Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA)

Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) is a copolymer made of ethylene and vinyl acetate with different weight percentage of vinyl acetate, in order to characterize the polymer harmonized with the purpose. This may make the polymer a thermoplastics material, a thermoplastic elastomer material or rubbery.

The material has good clarity and gloss, low-temperature toughness, stress-crack resistance, hot-melt adhesive waterproof properties, and UV resistance. These properties made EVA to be an operational material.

It can be used in solvent-based, aqueous and powder coatings, in order to improve the mechanical properties of coatings, such as their scratch resistance, abrasions resistance and gloss and improve the rheological properties of coatings, such as their thixotropy and the rate at which the solids settle.

Persis Polymer supplies EVA from Lotte, Hanwha, and LG
